The Navagraha Pooja is a powerful and time-tested Vedic ritual that can help a person achieve good health, education and knowledge, domestic peace and prosperity, vast wealth, and overall success in life. This Navagraha Pooja or worship is a collective worship of the Vedic or Hindu astrology’s nine planets.
These nine planets are thought to govern our actions (Karmas), desires, and the results or outcomes of those actions. The positions of these nine planets in a person’s natal chart tell the entire story about the occurrence of certain events in the person’s current life. The Navagraha Pooja has the power to remove all doshas (or flaws) in a person’s horoscope; allowing them to prosper in life.
The Navagraha Pooja or Navagraha Shanti Puja of any particular Graha creates a favorable environment in order to provide the person with the strength and courage needed to overcome problems in their life.

How to perform Navagraha Pooja
The ritual begins with the lighting of an oil lamp, the ringing of bells, and the taking of a solemn vow to perform the puja. The pitcher or water pot is then consecrated by reciting a mantra for each devata (tutelary God) to be honored.
For the protection of the directions – east, south, west, north, above, below, and center – the Gods Bhadra, Bala, Chanda, Brahma, Jaya, Kachhapa, and Vishnu are invoked.
Vinayaka or Ganesha, as in any other puja, is invoked to ensure the ritual’s success. Following that, the sun and the other eight planets, along with their devatas, adhi devatas and pratyadi devatas, are invoked by their respective mantras.
After that there is the astadik palaka aradhana (the worship of the rulers of the eight directions). Each deity is invoked using the sthapana (arrival) puja and abhimuka (presence) mantras.
Then comes karmasadgunya-devata-aradhana. The recitation of mantras summons Devi, Ganapati, Vastu Purusha, Kshetra-palaka, Abhayankara, Trayambaka, Brahma, Mrityunjaya, Saraswati, Vishnu, Maheshwara, and Parvati, who are invited to witness and bless the function. Then the mantra for each planet is chanted.
